We sell seasoned hardwood and softwood logs, from sustainable sources, in and around the Craven area. Unlike other suppliers we don't sell our firewood in 'dumpy' bags, instead we supply our wood via a trailer. We believe this benefits our customers as you can clearly see what you are getting and of course we create considerably less plastic waste by not using these bags.

Delivering by trailer also means we can deliver large loads of wood to less accessible places - and there are a lot of challenging delivery routes around Craven! 

We sell both hardwood and softwood logs, and now sell kindling too. Hardwood logs are the premium wood to burn on open fires, wood burners, range type cookers and multi-fuel stoves as they don't spit when alight and burn more efficiently giving more heat for longer. Softwood logs are suitable if you have a fire that's harder to light (some chimneys don't draw as well as others!) as they are quicker to ignite, and although they don't last as long as hardwood logs they do cost less to purchase which reflects this.

We carry out moisture content checking on the logs and they are in the range of 15 to 20%

All of our wood is air dried, seasoned for 18 months. We don't kiln dry our wood, as it makes the logs too dry and you'd burn through a load in no time. It also adds huge costs to supply (which of course means a higher price for you), and the wood often travels vast distances often being sourced from other EU countries and beyond.

We are conscious of our environmental impact, and firmly believe that it is considerably more environmentally damaging to use kiln dried logs than air dried, given the considerable additional processing. 

We are proud of the fact that all of our firewood for sale is traceable and local. We know where it comes from because we will have cut it down, so we can also say that our logs are truly Yorkshire firewood!
